Cleaning services for your SME: How to choose between providers?

You’re planning to outsource the cleaning of your work premises, but there are so many providers to choose from. In this case, you will need to classify each provider according to your needs to find the one that best suits your organisation.
Let’s take a look at the factors to consider when making a decision.

1- Different types of service available

Typical cleaning service

Every cleaning company will provide a typical cleaning service, so to speak. These are the basic cleaning services offered by the average cleaning company. Carried out every day, or at regular intervals depending on the organisation’s needs, this service covers simple cleaning requirements:

  • dusting all furniture in the premises (desks, cabinets, bookcases, chairs, etc.);
  • washing, disinfecting and deodorising floors, sanitary facilities, corridors, changing rooms, kitchens;
  • emptying bins and replacing bin liners;
  • cleaning and disinfecting areas often in contact with hands (telephones, switches, door handles, handrails for stairs, railings, buttons in lifts).

While this level of cleaning may be enough for normal business activity, other services may also be requested from cleaning companies. If this is the case, it will be easier to work with a company that already provides a wide range of services.

Complementary services

At your organisation, more specific needs will sometimes arise which require more specialist cleaning services:

  • specific treatment for walls, panelling, fitted carpets, rugs, leather, curtains, etc.;
  • pest control (insects, rats, cockroaches, etc.);
  • cleaning air conditioning systems;
  • window cleaning

2- The little “extras” that can make all the difference

  • The use of suitable products that do not harm your materials
  • Specialist and innovative methods/equipment
  • Additional services (technical testing, quality control, guarantee for work completed, etc.)
